For 2 weeks in December 2009, environment ministers and officials for almost 200 countries will meet in Copenhagen for the United Nations climate conference, the successor to the Kyoto protocol. Officials hope to agree a new treaty on climate change which will come into force when the Kyoto protocol expires in 2012
