By the end of this course learners will have covered all the aspects listed below and submitted answers to 9 freetext questions for tutor review from the Code for Crown Prosecutors module.
These modules must be completed prior to attending the face to face aspect of the Introduction to Prosecuting course.

Modules
Overview
Estimated Completion Time: 5 Minutes
A brief overview of the Introduction to Prosecuting programme, including a guide on how to navigate through the courses.
Code for Crown Prosecutors
Estimated Completion Time: 25 Minutes
The Code for Crown Prosecutors module covers charging standards and considers discontinuance. Case studies are presented to test understanding by means of free text input.
The Bail Act 1976
Estimated Completion Time: 15 Minutes
This module covers the Bail Act and its application to the prosecutor’s decision making process. It concentrates on the legal exceptions to the right to bail using the case method.
Custody Time Limits
Estimated Completion Time: 30 Minutes
This module covers Custody Time Limits and the practical application to Prosecution cases. It examines a ‘Ready Reckoner’ system for calculation of limits and identifies legal provisions applying to extensions of custody time limits.
