Introduction to finance and accounting with the CPS
Estimated Completion Time: 20 Minutes
This module looks at the finance structure within the CPS and the main roles within the finance directorate. This section also considers setting budgets and delegation of financial summary.
How budgets are recorded within the CPS
Estimated Completion Time: 10 Minutes
This module defines the term resource budgeting, idnetifies the different elements of CPS expenditure and describes the criteria required for fixed assets and their purcahse. The module also outlines the purpose of the fixed asset register.
Operating your budget
Estimated Completion Time: 30 Minutes
This module considers the rules for operating budgets within the CPS and the rules pertaining to hospitality and receiving gifts. This section also lists the series of management checks relevant to processes and the structure of the CPS financial system and its interrelation with other systems.
Banking & Petty Cash
Estimated Completion Time: 30 Minutes
This final section looks at cash in hand and at the bank and identifies how petty cash operates within the CPS. It also considers the application of the rules governing banking and petty cash payments. This section of the programme also contains post course assessment and evaluation questions.
