The Adult Criminal Case Management Framework (ACCMF)

The two modules that comprise this programme introduce the Criminal Case Management Framework as it applies in both the Magistrates Court and the Crown Court.

The advent of the Criminal Procedure Rules 2005 imported specific objectives for the management of criminal cases, to ensure they are dealt with fairly and expeditiously. The Framework is a practical guide for all participants involved in criminal case management, the application of which enables compliance with those Rules.

It concentrates on the responsibilities and actions required of all parties, whether CPS, Defence, Court or others, in actively managing cases, setting them out in clear and unambiguous terms. The programme includes a permanent link to the text of the framework for continuous reference and to promote familiarity with the content.

Of the two modules the first is the longest, but the estimated time for completion of both is two hours.
